Te lang geleden dat ik hier iets gepost heb. Ja helaas bemerk ik dat Facebook veel overneemt. Eigenlijk heel erg jammer, dus neem ik me hierbij voor om hier wat meer te laten zien. 

Dit is mijn bijdrage aan de Art Journey Steampunk Challenge, een spread in mijn kleine vierkante journal.

Recycling, Art Journey Challenge

Deze maand was het thema op onze Art Journey Challenge Blog: Recycling. Omdat ik al heel lang van plan was om een altered spoon te maken was dit de zet die ik nodig had om het uit te voeren. Dus op naar de Kringloopwinkel om een paar lepels op te halen (viel nog niet mee want er was gek genoeg niet zoveel te halen deze keer) en aan de slag. Erg leuk om te doen. Met een lijmpistool en wat heldere bisonkit kom je een heel eind.

De laatste Art Journey Challenge van 2017 heeft als thema: Ruitjes. Ik had niet veel tijd, maar heb onderstaande snelle kaart op de valreep gemaakt. Hoop dat het jullie inspireert om mee te doen.

In de maand oktober is de opdracht voor de Art Journey Challenge: Alles is rond. Onderstaande kaart is geinspireerd op een kaart die ik zag van Paula Whitaker. 

In the month of October the Art Journey Challenge is themed: Round & Round. The card below is inspired by a card of Paula Whitaker. 

The background is sponged with Distress oxides using templates. Stamped in black using the stamps: Umbrella Girl, Follow your heart and Sewing,

all Art Journey stamps.

Art Journey Challenge: alles is vierkant, everything is square

Deze maand hebben we natuurlijk weer een nieuwe challenge. Renje gaf ons als opdracht: alles is vierkant. Ik had niet zoveel inspiratie en heb de opdracht wel heel letterlijk opgevat.

Of course this month we also have a new Art Journey Challenge with the theme: Everything is square. I didn't have that much inspiration and just took the the quote very literally

Deze maand heeft Anette ons de opdracht verhuizen gegeven voor de Art Journey Challenge. 

This month Anette gave us the theme "moving" for the Art Journey Challenge.

Art Journey Challenge # 77: Zwart/wit met nog 1 kleur. Black and white and 1 other color

Deze maand was het thema van de Art Journey Challenge Zwart/Wit met nog 1 andere kleur. Toen ik mijn zwart-witte kaart af  had vond ik het eigenlijk al af maar moest nog 1 kleur toevoegen en dat vond ik best moeilijk. Heb het dus maar zo licht mogelijk gehouden. 

This months Art Journey Challenge theme was black and white with one additional color. When I was done with my black and white I was actually satisfied with the result, but then had to add one more color and that was difficult for me. I just added some light coloring.

Art Journey Challenge #76: Resist

Op deze eerste dag van het nieuwe jaar wil ik jullie allereerst een heel gelukkig, gezond en creatief 2017 toewensen. We hopen dat dit nieuwe jaar veel moois voor ons in petto zal hebben.

Om gelijk maar je creativiteit een impuls te geven hebben we als designteam weer een aantal kaarten voor je gemaakt om je te inspireren om aan onze nieuwe challenge mee te doen. Deze maand gaf Willy Duit ons de opdracht om een Resist techniek in ons werk toe te passen. Hieronder zie je mijn bijdrage.

On the first day of this New Year I just want to take the opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a happy, healthy and creative 2017! We hope that this new year has lots of lovely & great things in store for us all.

To get those creative juices flowing the girls of the Art Journey designteam made beautiful cards to inspire you to join in our challenge of this month. Willy Duit asked us to make artwork with a resist technique. Below you will find my entry.

De achtergrond is gestempeld met embossing inkt waarover met een spons Pan Pastel is aangebracht in 3 kleuren. De embossing inkt stoot het poeder af, dus een snelle resist is het resultaat.

The background is stamped with embossing ink over which I sponged PanPastel powder in 3 vibrant colors. The embossing ink resists the chalkpowder.

Art Journey Challenge # 75 Doodle or draw

Wist eerst niet wat ik moest doen toen ik deze opdracht van Ellen zag: Doodle of teken iets. Maar toen ik er (ik moet bekennen echt op het laatste moment) eenmaal voor ging zitten was het eigenlijk zo gepiept.

When I first read the assignment for this challenge: Doodle or draw something, I didn't know what to to, but when I finally (at the last minute) sat down to actually create something it came to me rather quick.

Used stamps: Tangled Vines and Tangled Bird, both Art Journey of course.

Ik hoop dat ik je geinspireerd heb om eens anders naar je stempels te kijken en wie weet om je over te halen om ook eens mee te doen met onze Art Journey Challenge.

Art Journey Challenge #73 Indian Summer

Altijd leuk om in een challenge een opdracht te krijgen en te bedenken wat je daarmee gaat doen. Toevallig had ik onlangs een hele stapel Gelli Prints gemaakt en er zat er eentje tussen die ik in de opdracht vond passen. Ik zag de kleuren van de Indian Summer hierin terug. De distelbloemen vielen na het stempelen een beetje weg in de achtergrond dus heb ik deze aangezet met ZIG markers, zwarte en witte fineliners. Nog een beetje modeling paste en washi tape en klaar was mijn challenge bijdrage. Hoop dat het jullie inspireert. Mocht je nog meer inspiratie nodig hebben ga dan naar onze designteamblog waar de ander meiden ook prachtige kaarten laten zien.

It's always fun to get the new challenge theme and start the thinking process of how to make this work. Luckily I had a whole heap of gelliprints lying on my worktable and one of them had just the right colors for the theme Indian Summer. The thistle flowers didn't really pop out of the background after stamping them so I gave them som more color with ZIG markers and black and white fineliners. After adding some modeling paste and washi tape my challenge card of this month was a fact. I hope it inspires you to join us. Art Journey Challenge #71 Travel

Deze keer heb ik een journal pagina gemaakt voor de Art Journey challenge. Het thema is gekozen door Willy en zij had het woord Travel/reizen aan ons opgegeven. Ik heb de opdracht zeer ruim gezien, en ik hoop dat jullie het kunnen waarderen of er in ieder geval inspiratie van krijgen.

This time I made a journal page for the Art Journey challenge with this months theme travel. I took the brief with a broader view. You can travel on the wings of a butterfly can't you? Fly with Dreams!!

Ik wens je vanaf mijn eigen blog ook nog een heel gelukkig en gezond 2016 toe. Vooral dat laatste is een groot goed. Laten we dit nieuwe jaar weer samen vieren en van onze geweldige hobby genieten.

Misschien leuk om dit jaar te starten met het deelnemen aan onze Art Journey challenge met een gemakkelijk thema: gebruik een template/Sjabloon. Hieronder zie je mijn bijdrage, maar op onze designteamblog hebben de meiden nog veel meer moois om je te inspireren.

Art Journey Challenge: Everything Goes

Deze maand maakten we het ons zelf, en dus ook jullie gemakkelijk door geen thema aan onze Art Journey Challenge te verbinden. Everything Goes, dus je mag maken wat je maar wilt, als je maar Art Journey stempels gebruikt. Hieronder zie je mijn bijdrage waarbij ik gewerkt heb met een nieuw speeltje: Speedball Elegant Writer Calligraphy Marker.
 Dit is een kalligrafeer pen die zwart schrijft maar zodra je het met water in contact brengt er mooie blauwe, teal en roze tinten ontstaan naar gelang je meer of minder water gebruikt en wat voor soort papier je kiest. Onderstaande kaart is gemaakt op aquarelpapier. Je kunt de stift ook rechtstreeks op de stempel gebruiken, maar zorg ervoor dat je snel werkt en de stempel bevochtigt met je adem. Ik heb er ook nog gekleurde sharpies bij gebruikt voor een paar roze, groene en witte streepjes.

This month we are not giving ourselves or you a hard time by choosing a theme for the Art Journey Challenge. Everything goes, no theme. The only restriction is that you must use Art Journey stamps.
In the card below I tried out my newest "toy", Speedball Elegant Writer Calligraphy Marker. This is a calligraphy pen that writes black, but if you bring water to the ink you get the most incredable colors, blue, teal, pink. It depends on how much water you use and what kind of paper. I chose watercolor paper for this card. I also used some Sharpies to draw some pink, green and white stripes.

Art Journey Challenge: Blue white

Deze maand is het thema van onze Art Journey Challenge Blauw/Wit.
Ik heb het heel simpel gehouden maar vind het eindresultaat wel leuk geworden. De rand komt van de sheet Tulips en de huisjes en tekst zijn van de sheet Houses & Towers.

This month the thema of the Art Journey Challenge is Blue/White.
I kept it rather simple but I so like the result.
The frame I made from a little stamp on the sheet Tulips and the houses and sentiment are from the sheet Houses & Towers.

Art Journey challenge #59: 50% wit/white. ICAD #12

Het thema voor onze nieuwste challenge is 50%. Voor sommigen van ons lastiger dan anderen. Ik dacht er geen moeite mee te zullen hebben, maar het was toch nog even een strijd. Onderstaand kaartje heb ik toch gemeend te moeten combineren met mijn andere persoonlijke challenge: iedere dag een indexcard te willen maken. (ICAD staat voor Index Card A Day)

The theme for our new Art Journey challenge is 50% white. For some of us harder than for others. I thought it would be easy but found it quiet difficult during the proces. As I am also doiing my own personal challenge I thought I should combine these to in making an indexcard. (ICAD stands for Index Card A Day).

Stamps used: Art Journey stamps: Garden Birds, Vintage Sewing and Handwriting.
